Bullmastiff Size Explained: How Big Are They Compared To Others?

The Bullmastiff is a large British mastiff-type large dog with a solid build and a short muzzle. It was introduced in the nineteenth century as a guard dog by crossing the English Mastiff with the now-extinct Old English Bulldog.

When it comes to family members, Bullmastiffs are gentle and affectionate. Their generally calm, easygoing personalities make them ideal for families with well-behaved children.

They are not friendly with strangers, and they become slightly aggressive. Also, the Bullmastiff dog breed is considered a strong and fearless family protector.

The Bullmastiff isn’t as big as his close cousin the Mastiff, but he can still stand up to 27 inches at the shoulder.

The height of the male Bullmastiff dog is about 64–69 cm (25–27 in) and for the female, the height ranges from 61–66 cm (24–26 in). The male Bullmastiff is slightly larger than the female one.

Furthermore, these puppies grow very quickly. Males have doubled their weight by the second month, and females are close behind.
